But Why Use Legal Video Anyway?
Video depositions are a valuable addition to your case when a witness may not be available for trial because they live out of state, out of the country, are in poor health or unavailable for trial. A great way to preserve their testimony is to use a deposition video. Legal cases hinge on the way a jury interprets a witness statement. Our words only convey a small part of the message we communicate, so a transcript is missing important clues for your jury to properly interpret the witness testimony. The majority of the information is contained in facial expressions, vocal inflections and body language. These visual cues tell a story much better than a transcript alone. Now, when you combine the two and synchronize your video deposition with the transcript it makes a powerful presentation for trial.
Why CLVS?
Our videographers have chosen to get trained by the NCRA (National Court Reporters Association) to get their CLVS or Certified Legal Video Specialists designation and adhere to its standards. The CLVS program sets and enforces standards for competency in the capture, utilization, and retention of legal video. Legal videographers partner with court reporters to ensure the integrity of both the video of legal proceedings and the official transcript. The CLVS program is one of the best training programs available for providing video services to the legal industry. In addition, our videographers have taken the additional step of getting double certified by also achieving the CDVS (Certified Deposition Video Specialist) accredited by the American Guild of Court Videographers (AGCV).
